web2file is a Chrome extension that runs entirely on your device. It has no backend server, and it does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data or the content of any web page you capture.
web2file lets you convert the web page you are currently viewing into a file — SVG, PNG, JPEG, or PDF — by capturing the full page, a single element, or a region you select. All conversion happens locally, inside your browser, using JavaScript libraries bundled with the extension (dom-to-svg, html2canvas, jsPDF). The resulting file is saved directly to your computer's Downloads folder via Chrome's own downloads API.
storage.sync API so they carry over between your own signed-in Chrome browsers. This is standard Chrome Sync infrastructure, not a service operated by us — we never see this data ourselves. We do not collect personally identifiable information, health information, financial information, authentication credentials, personal communications, location data, browsing history, or user activity data (clicks, keystrokes, etc.) of any kind.
web2file contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting, no advertising code, and makes no network requests as part of its capture/convert/download flow. This can be verified directly in the source code, which is open source.
We do not sell, rent, or transfer any user data to third parties, because we do not collect any user data to begin with.
